Dynamics of proteins and structural biology of IDPs

Molecules are dynamic, not rigid, and biological functions are strongly influenced by the molecular dynamics. Therefore, knowledge of dynamic is important for understanding the mechanism of biological activity. Analysis of NMR relaxation allows us to study dynamics with atomic resolution. During the seminar, various connections between dynamics and function will be discussed. Intrinsically disordered proteins as molecules with functions strongly influenced by motions will be presented. It will be reviewed what can be learned about molecular motions using techniques routinely used in our lab and by other groups and what are the requirements for such studies.
