Abstract:
RNA silencing is a group of pathways involved in the sequence-specific regulation of gene expression by double-stranded RNAs. Critical steps in these pathways are mediated by the protein Dicer, an RNase III enzyme that cleaves small RNA precursors into shorter double-stranded RNA molecules.
