Bioinformatics
The National Center for Biomolecular Research offers a Bachelor's degree program in Biochemistry with a specialization in Bioinformatics. Other students are offered the opportunity to work on independent projects or to develop a bachelor thesis focusing on structural biology and bio-omics, mainly genomics and proteomics. Students can further develop the acquired knowledge in a follow-up Master's degree with a broader portfolio of specializations.
For those interested in studying
Do you enjoy chemistry, biology, and programming? Do you want to be educated in a hit-tech field with applications in modern biotechnology.
Don't hesitate to study in the Bachelor of Biochemistry program in a profile specialization:
In the fourth semester of the Bachelor's degree, we offer students the opportunity to develop an independent project where you can learn about research in our centre. You can then build on the results and experience gained in your bachelor thesis.
If you are not studying a specialization sponsored by the National Center for Biomolecular Research, or if you are studying in other but related study programs, we offer you the opportunity to prepare your bachelor thesis at our workplace.
Study specializations
Bioinformatics
represents a modern multidisciplinary specialty that bridges (bio)chemistry, biology and access to data obtained within them. Today's instrumental methods are so advanced that the biggest challenge is to interpret the obtained data in a way that makes sense in the field. Bioinformatics is now an essential part of scientific work in the life sciences.
