The event programme will offer a behind-the-scenes look at research at NCBR - visitors can look forward to guided tours of the laboratories, demonstrations of scientific and student projects, competition and popularization activities and informal discussions with participating students and teachers.

One of the highlights of the program will also be the introduction of the new interfaculty Master's program in Bioinformatics, which focuses on linking computer science with modern biology, structural bioinformatics, systems biology, and other areas of contemporary research.

Vladimir Sklenar Scholarship

To honour the memory of Professor Vladimír Sklenář, an internationally renowned scientist and an important organiser of scientific activities in the Czech Republic, CEITEC and the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University announce the Vladimír Sklenář Scholarship. The scholarship is intended for female and male PhD students at universities in the Czech and Slovak Republic who are working in the field of NMR spectroscopy and can be used to cover the costs associated with studying and working on a dissertation project. The intention is to improve and enhance the level of studies as well as the personal and career development of the winner.

Masaryk University awarded its best scientists

On 11 December, 37 scientists or research groups received the MUNI Scientist Award for outstanding achievements, publications in prestigious journals or publishing houses and outstanding research results.

The aim of the award, given by the internal Grant Agency of Masaryk University (GAMU), is to strengthen the motivation of the university's scientists and to spread the university's reputation in the scientific community and in the public. The award ceremony was attended by 43 researchers and teams in person in the atrium of the CEITEC MU Institute.
